Is there a free tier?+
Yes. The Free tier gives you access to our free models with rate limits, and no card is required. Paid tiers unlock every major AI model plus image generation.
Do I need a credit card to start?+
Only for paid tiers. The Free tier needs no card — try 1Chat for free, then upgrade if you need more.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Cancel from your account settings. You keep access until the end of your current billing period, then drop to the Free tier — no fees, no lock-in.
What happens if I run out of credits?+
Buy a top-up pack from R 29 (250 credits) up to R 199 (2 500 credits), or upgrade to a higher tier. Top-ups do not expire while your subscription is active.
Do unused monthly credits roll over?+
No — monthly credits reset at the start of each billing period. Top-up credits are separate and do not reset.
Which AI models can I use?+
Paid tiers include every major model — OpenAI (GPT-4o family), Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), xAI (Grok), plus image generation on Pro and above. We add new models as they ship.
Can I switch tiers?+
Yes — upgrade or downgrade anytime from your settings. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of your current billing period.
Do you offer refunds?+
See our refund policy for full details. In short: subscription fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started. The Free tier lets you try 1Chat with no charge before committing to a paid tier.
Is my data private?+
Yes. Every account has row-level security enforced at the database — only you can read your own chats. We never sell or share your conversations, and we don’t train models on them.
Can I use 1Chat outside South Africa?+
Yes. 1Chat works worldwide. We bill in ZAR and list prices in your local currency (ZAR / USD / GBP) on the pricing page.
